Low Cost Conselling Scheme
The low cost counselling scheme aims to provide individual therapy at a cost appropriate to those on low incomes.
Under this scheme you could have lower cost counselling for a period of 6 to 18 weeks. After this period the scheme will be reviewed. The low cost counselling scheme has a sliding scale fee structure and the amount would be agreed in relation to your earnings. The fee can be negotiated to a minimum of £40 per session. All sessions are on weekly, one-to-one bases and last 50 minutes.
The sessions on this scheme will be virtually only.
There is a limited number of spaces available for this scheme. Please ask before booking a session.
Cash, cheques and bank transfers only
If you would like to reschedule or cancel your appointment you need to do so at least 48 hours prior to your session, otherwise a full fee would be charged.
What happens in the first session?
This will be an opportunity for both us to get a sense of each other. It will also be a chance for me to gather some detailed information on your background and what has brought you to counselling or psychotherapy, and from that to evaluate whether or not I am the best person to work with you.
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, emotions and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover appropriate methods of coping.
What is Intergrative Psychotherapy?
Integrative Psychotherapy selects therapies to suit your needs and the problems you experience. It considers your subjective experience and options. The aim of Integrative Psychotherapy is to help you advance your self-awareness.
How long will therapy take?
Psychotherapy or counselling may be, by agreement, for a limited period or open-ended. Also the frequency of sessions can be worked out in keeping with the client’s needs, their personal situation and availability of sessions in my practice. I meet with the client for an initial consultation in order that I can acquaint myself with the client and feed back what kind of help I am able to offer.
Will therapy make me better?
Whilst not eliminating the external pressures we all live with, it can help you to better understand your feelings and reactions to situations and can provide strategies for coping with difficulties. Therapy aims to help you to feel calmer and more confident in yourself, whilst handling the everyday pressures of your life more effectively.
Do you subscribe to a professional Code of Ethics?
I work to the standards set down by the BACP through their ‘Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy’, and the Code of Practice set down by the UKCP.
